Canada Ontario Jobs Grant Consultant

COSTI REQUIRES A CANADA ONTARIO JOBS GRANT CONSULTANT FOR ITS EMPLOYMENT SERVICES IN THE GREATER TORONTO AREA

Duties:

  • Responds to inquiries and supports employers throughout the Canada Ontario Job Grant process
  • Liaises and case conferences with Employment Consultants for employer leads to promote the COJG program
  • Contacts and verifies employer and individual eligibility for Canada Ontario Job Grant
  • Notifies the employer of reasons for not approving the application
  • Provides any amendments to the Agreement; training cost and duration if needed
  • Reviews, assesses and makes recommendations in Training Contribution funds for the Canada-Ontario Job Grant Application to centre managers
  • Ensures that COJG training agreements are approved and signed prior to the start date of training
  • Enters program data into Employment Ontario Information System-Case Management System(EOIS-CaMS)
  • Co-ordinates and conducts monitoring training provider site visits
  • Tracks and monitors government funding contributions to training according to guidelines
  • Verifies employer payments to the training provider before coordinating employer claims for payments
  • Conducts employer and participant follow-up according to agreement guidelines
  • Responsible for file management, maintains complete case notes and checklist
  • Ensures accurate record keeping and all supporting documentations for COJG agreements are maintained and available for auditing purpose.
  • Develops tracking systems to maintain and update Training Contribution funds summary for 5 locations
  • Collects and prepares monthly statistical /narrative and other activities reports as per funder‘s performance management requirements.
  • Maintains up-to-date program guidelines and forms
  • Notifies managers and the team of any information/changes posted on the Employment Ontario Partners’ Gateway (EOPG) by MAESD regarding the Canada Ontario Job Grant program
  • Works collectively and case conferences with the managers across all of COSTI’s 5 Employment Services locations to meet contractual targets and deadlines
  • Qualifications:

  • Community College diploma in Social Services or equivalent, preference will be given to those with strong experience working with Employment Ontario training related programs including Canada Ontario Jobs Grant and experience in employer engagement
  • Minimum nine (9) months experience administering Canada Ontario Job Grant
  • Must have strong administrative and data entry skills including advanced Excel skills
  • Experience entering data into EOIS – CaMs and budget summary programs
  • Knowledge of the current labour market and industry trends
  • Self-motivated with experience working with multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills (oral & written)
  • Extremely detailed and organizational skills with ability to work in a team.
  • Experienced in file management both electronic and paper-based
  • Knowledgeable of current computer packages: Word, Excel, Email, Internet.
  • Travel within the GTA including York and Peel regions is essential so access to a car is required.

    Starting Salary Range:

    $45,475 to $48,944 per annum + benefits
