Online General Counsellor
COSTI REQUIRES AN ONLINE GENERAL COUNSELLOR FOR ITS’
CORVETTI EDUCATION CENTRE
Duties:
Provide highly skilled clients with timely online e-counselling, information and referral and orientation on settlement and social services available within Ontario.
Develop, edit and conduct live and pre-recorded webinars associated with Active and Engagement and Integration Project (AEIP).
Establish, develop and maintain Ontario wide collaborations with settlement services providers and formalize communications among referral organizations within the province.
Monitor the effectiveness of referrals for the purpose of further program development and provide input into the evaluation of the services.
Research updated information regarding programs, services, laws, licensing, regulations and practices at all levels of government and amongst Ontario wide community agencies.
Identify gaps in the various regions across Ontario, making appropriate recommendations to address gaps in interagency partnerships.
Tracking and reporting of trends and success stories.
Capture and analyze all relevant statistical data, prepare and submit monthly statistical and analytical reports.
Maintain an updated database of onward referral partnerships, settlement, education, employment resources in Ontario.
Participate in teleconferences, focus groups and interviews.
Assist in the facilitation of presentations in Canada and overseas

Qualifications:
Social Service Worker Diploma or equivalent with relevant practicum experience.
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in providing initial settlement services to professional newcomers.
Minimum nine (9) months of settlement e-counselling and referral experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of webinar development and delivery using webinar platforms.
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of financial, education, and housing services, current labour market information, career planning and assessment, licensing and accreditation.
Working knowledge of initial settlement services provided and available across Ontario.
Excellent communication skills in order to accurately relay complex information to a wide variety of clients online.
Demonstrated ability to liaise and collaborate with community organizations across Ontario.
Highly developed organizational skills, ability to multi-task and set priorities independently.
Sound knowledge of Internet, Email and MS Office in a Windows environment.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure of heavy caseload and deadlines.
Excellent presentation skills.
Able to travel within the GTA, Canada and Oversees; must possess a valid passport.
