Team Lead

COSTI REQUIRES A TEAM LEADER FOR ITS BRAMPTON EMPLOYMENT SERVICES LOCATION

This is a non- Union contract position scheduled to work 35 hours per week**

Duties:

  • Provides guidance, advice and support to the employment service staff, assists with overseeing day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinates delivery of employment services to job seekers and employers in the community.
  • Coordinates schedules and assists in intake, assessment, delivery of client services and workshops and support of clients as required.
  • Plans and schedules the delivery of various pre-employment workshops including, information on regulatory process, sector specific workshops and workplace expectations for unemployed/underemployed adults and youth.
  • Engages guest speakers and assists in the planning and holding of job fairs and other Centre activities such as employer networking events, mentoring, and related employment-training events.
  • Develops employer contacts to create job opportunities for participants accessing programs and services.
  • Develops and maintains positive and productive relations with other Centres and community partners.
  • Collaborates with other service providers in the community to deliver seamless services to clients and employers.
  • Supports marketing and outreach activities to promote programs and services to job seekers and employers.
  • Ensures that placements are appropriate and meet employer, participant and program expectations.
  • Reviews and approves job placement contracts, training plans and monitoring of job placements.
  • Processes and reviews training grant applications and amendments to current agreements, as required.
  • Orients and trains mentors and mentees, evaluates and ensures match sustainability by conducting follow-up with mentee and mentor.
  • Handles client complaints in consultation with Centre staff and completes file documentation.
  • Monitors program file review to ensure that appropriate documentation is maintained and meets quality standards prior to file closure.
  • Supports staff in planning and meeting program targets.
  • Monitors and matches manual client information with data in EOIS and performs weekly file audits. Identifies errors and implements solutions. Monitors and cross checks accuracy of data in tracking systems (Excel).
  • Prepares regular monthly, quarterly and annual statistical reports and maintains records.
  • Qualifications:

  • Career and Work Diploma or equivalent with relevant practicum experience.
  • A minimum of one (1) years of experience in job development, successfully placing individuals within their professions.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience group facilitation and employment counselling experience, specifically within Employment Ontario guidelines specifically with vulnerable Newcomers, refugees, and internationally trained professionals.
  • Strong coordination, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment providing coaching, guidance and support.
  • Proficiency in the use of Internet, Email, and MS Office Suite is an asset.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Resourceful and flexible individual with experience in dealing with employers and assessing employer needs.
  • Verbal and written fluency in English. The ability to speak any other language would be an asset.
  • Required to travel to employer sites throughout the GTA, access to a reliable vehicle is necessary.
  • Must be available to work variable hours occasionally, depending on Centre activities and events.

    Starting Salary Range:

    $26.54 to $28.57 per hour

    Notes:

    This position is designed to coordinate the delivery of employment programs and services that assist unemployed youth and internationally trained individuals who are seeking to find employment in various professions and trades.
    **Hours of work shall be scheduled in accordance with Article 12.01and shall consist of five (5) seven (7) hour days, Monday to Friday.
    Priority consideration will be given to those on Notice of Recall. Subject to the response of those on Notice of Recall, this position may be open to Union members on secondment basis.
