Office Assistant - Scarborough
COSTI REQUIRES AN OFFICE ASSISTANT FOR ITS
Provides administrative support to the centre manager and services.
Prepares, types, proofreads, correspondence, statistical reports forms and other documents as requested.
Handles client inquiries regarding various programs.
Inputs data into the computerized CIS database.
Enters data into the City’s SMIS system (database).
Submits monthly SMIS statistical and financial reports.
Assigns rooms to clients.
Dispenses tokens and welcome package.
Responsible for reception coverage.
Records and monitors purchase orders and invoices for services rendered.
Responsible for the handling and reconciliation of petty cash.
Orders and maintains office and program supplies.
Ensures any facility issue/concerns are communicated to the Manager.
Advanced knowledge of MS Windows and Excel 2013, internet and email.
Must have twelve (12) months of office experience.
High school graduation or equivalent.
Must be able to speak at least one of the following languages: Arabic, French, Amharic, Tigrinya, Hungarian, Somali, Farsi, and Urdu.
Knowledge of SMIS and CIS considered an asset.
Good written and oral communication skills in English is required.
Good administrative skills, typing speed of 40 words per minute is essential.
Demonstrated knowledge of administrative skills, office procedures and capable of meeting timelines.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent customer service skills and sensitivity towards the needs of newcomers.

Duration of Position:
|June 1, 2017 to December 31, 2018 (pending confirmation of funding)
Starting Salary Range:
|$36,928 to $39,744 per annum + Benefits
|Shelter Services provide short-term accommodation and support services for vulnerable populations including Refugee Claimants
