Newcomers Connecting to Trades Apprenticeship Resources (NeCTAR)
Funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities, the NeCTAR Project is aimed at facilitating newcomers' access to Trades Apprenticeship in Ontario. Through this public awareness and training project, user-friendly information materials have been developed and disseminated to internationally trained tradespeople.
In order to provide broad and easy access to the various apprenticeship and employment opportunities available to newcomers residing in Ontario, front-line staff of community-based agencies across Ontario, received information and training, along with helpful tools and resources, for use with newcomer clients seeking employment and apprenticeship opportunities in the skilled trades.
The following resources and tools have been developed and distributed to community agencies, and will be available in a downloadable format in the near future.
