HOUSING SERVICES FOR SENIORS GUIDE IN TORONTO AVAILABLE IN SIX LANGUAGES!

The City of Toronto Services for Seniors – Housing Guide is now available in Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Farsi, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

The guide provides seniors and their caregivers with information about services offered by governments and non-profit organizations in Toronto that can help them to maintain their independence and remain in their homes. The guide includes information on eviction prevention; housing help; tenant complaints and concerns; housing access and applications; co-ops and non-profits; home-safety and injury prevention; home maintenance, yard work and snow removal; utility, property tax and home renovation assistance.

Read or download a copy of the City of Toronto Services for Seniors – Housing Guide in the following languages: Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Farsi, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

Through project funds received from The City of Toronto Homelessness Partnering Strategy, COSTI’s Housing Services staff were able to translate the guide into six languages and share it with seniors and community agencies. The overall objective of the project is to develop a culturally competent service model for shelters, housing and social services organizations in Toronto and across Canada to increase their ability to help prevent homelessness among non-Canadian born senior populations.
