Our Volunteers
COSTI volunteers are critical to the success of our programs, helping our clients in areas such as settlement support, job searching, learning about Canadian society and culture, improving language and communication skills, expanding social networks, and enhancing their ability to access community resources and services.
In 2022/23, more than 300 volunteers contributed over 16,000 volunteer hours. Volunteer drivers delivered Welcome Packages and donations to newcomer families’ homes and COSTI’s shelters, volunteers read to newcomer children through the Storytelling Program, both online and in person, and provided event support for holiday parties and donation distributions for newcomer families at COSTI’s temporary housing locations.
