AEIP is a free pre-arrival program funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). It gives you practical tools and personalized guidance to make your transition smooth and stress-free. Services are available online worldwide and in person in China.

Program highlights

Personalized Guidance: Get one-on-one support, settlement planning, and referrals to services that meet your needs
Settlement Information: Receive information about housing, health care, schools, transportation, finances, language training, and other services in your destination community
Employment Support: Access job search assistance, resume and cover letter support, labour market information, employer connections, mentorship opportunities, and virtual job fairs
Credential Recognition & Career Planning: Learn about foreign credential recognition, licensing requirements for regulated professions, and alternative career options
Workshops & Online Resources: Join workshops and access online tools and programs to support your settlement, education, and employment goals
Community Connections: Build your local network through community groups, volunteer opportunities, cultural associations, places of worship, and other community services
Referrals to Local Services: Connect with settlement agencies, employment organizations, and newcomer services for ongoing support after arrival

Who is eligible

Persons approved to come to Canada and have received one of the following from IRCC:
- An IRCC invitation letter to obtain pre-arrival services.
- A Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) letter/document.
- A passport request letter that indicates Permanent Resident visa issuance.
- An IRCC request that an applicant for permanent residence complete a medical examination (not applicable for Express Entry applicants).
- A Permanent Resident Visa pick up notification letter.
- A Single Entry Permanent Resident visa.
- A completed job-offer form and confirmation of designation (Atlantic Immigration Program Candidates).
Currently living outside of Canada.
Interested in either settlement or employment services support (no language or profession criteria).
