Kira arrived in Canada with a strong background in child development and education. But without English proficiency or certifications, she couldn’t work in her field. Determined to continue her career, she took English courses at COSTI. She later joined the Workplace Language Training – Childcare program, where she gained sector-specific training and earned key certifications for her job search.
With improved English and a better understanding of working with children in Canada, Kira secured a job as a kindergarten teacher. She says COSTI is a place where people’s needs are understood and their potential is recognized, helping them move forward despite the challenges of settling in a new country.
