Employment Facilitator
COSTI REQUIRES AN EMPLOYMENT FACILITATOR FOR ITS
WOMEN’s EMPLOYMENT and LIFESKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM
Duties:
Organizes and conducts pre-employment workshops in labour market information, job search strategies, career planning, employer and Canadian workplace expectations, employment services and supports available in their communities.
Identifies clients’ job readiness and employment training needs.
Assists participants in developing individualized and self-directed job search work plans, exploration and goal setting for career development.
Assists in all aspects of job search to ensure employment and education/training goals achieved.
Reviews, critiques and provides feedback on participants’ résumé development and finalization.
Assists participants in identifying and networking with field professionals.
Refers and connects job ready participants with local Employment Ontario/Employment Services and wrap around services such as mentoring.
Monitors participants’ progress and conducts follow ups
Solicits feedback from participants for program evaluation.
Prepares and maintains narrative and statistical reports and other documentation as required.
Inputs clients’ information into database system for services provided and maintains records of employer contacts.

Qualifications:
Social Service Worker Diploma or equivalent with relevant practicum experience.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience facilitating employment workshops and counselling.
Experience with online employment platforms such as Moodle as an asset
Experience and sensitivity in working with Foreign Trained Professionals, newcomers and immigrants.
Must have work experience with people facing additional barriers including: lack of Canadian work experience
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Internet, and email is essential.
Knowledge of job creation programs, education and training programs, wage subsidies and/other Employment Support Programs offered through SC and MTCU.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exceptional multitasking skills.
Knowledge of access to professions for newcomers and their pre-employment needs.
Conducts outreach activities and promotes the program to other centres and community partners
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to speak another language would be an asset.
Knowledge of the office administration/customer service sector an asset.
Car is required for travelling throughout the GTA
