As one of the largest immigrant-serving agencies in Canada, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. has over 50 years of history in serving newcomers, youth, seniors and diverse communities. Since 1973, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. has been helping Canadians and newcomers achieve their full potential. With services in 40 locations across Canada and Asia, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. continues to be a trusted resource for individuals and families seeking support and guidance in their journey towards integration and success.

Active Engagement and Integration Project (AEIP) is the first overseas initiative by S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Since 2008, AEIP provides free pre-arrival services to individuals moving to Canada. Funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), AEIP’s holistic service model addresses all areas of settlement and employment for a smooth transition to life in Canada. AEIP offers in-person support in China and online services worldwide.

Services Available

Services include:

  • One-on-one or group support to assist in your transition to life in Canada. 
  • Personalized assessments and plans to receive the most up-to-date pre- and post-landing support. 
  • Access the latest workshops and resources for a faster and more effective transition to your new community.
  • Employment and community connection to help you understand the local labour market and newcomer support.
  • Connection to Canadian community organizations for post arrival support.

AEIP has developed partnerships with key settlement agencies across Canada to ensure a smooth transition from pre-arrival to post-arrival settlement services. COSTI serves as the provincial partner for Active Engagement and Integration Partner (AEIP) in Ontario.

As a provincial partner, COSTI AEIP’s advisors offer comprehensive supportive services to clients before their arrival in Canada. Services cover a wide range of essential areas:

  • Responding to settlement questions in the client’s province and city of destination, such as housing, health care, children’s schooling, education, language and skills training, finance, transportation and more.
  • Further assessing the client’s employment needs and providing additional resources and options, including more detailed labour market information in the province of destination and employer connections, as relevant.
  • Offering guidance for regulated occupations, including licensing process and referrals to regulatory bodies and/or exploring alternate career options.
  • Helping clients enroll in online bridging and mentoring programs, if available.
  • Facilitating access to online newcomer services such as Orientation to Ontario (O2O) and employment assistance programs, such as COSTI Employment Online Services.
  • Connecting clients with local settlement and/or employment service agencies in their destination city for post-arrival support.
  • Connecting clients with local community services and volunteer organizations, places of worship, furniture-banks, ethnic and cultural associations.

Who is Eligible

  • Persons approved to come to Canada and have received one of the following from IRCC:
    • An IRCC invitation letter to obtain pre-arrival services.
    • A Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) letter/document.
    • A passport request letter that indicates Permanent Resident visa issuance.
    • An IRCC request that an applicant for permanent residence complete a medical examination (not applicable for Express Entry applicants).
    • A Permanent Resident Visa pick up notification letter.
    • A Single Entry Permanent Resident visa.
    • A completed job-offer form and confirmation of designation (Atlantic Immigration Program Candidates).
  • Currently living outside of Canada.
  • Interested in either settlement or employment services support (no language or profession criteria).
