Facilitator Assistant_Keele Apply Now

COSTI REQUIRES AN FACILITATOR ASSISTANT FOR ITS EMPLOYMENT SERVICES PROGRAM AT KEELE EMPLOYMENT SERVICES

This is a fulltime non-union contract position scheduled to work 35 hours/week.
Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Duties:

  • Assists in conducting initial client Needs Assessment to determine service eligibility requirement(s) or referrals to other community services.
  • Registers clients and records services provided in various databases including CIS and CAMs.
  • Co-facilitates small group and individualized virtual and in person workshops in resume/cover letters/interview skills, job search as required.
  • Critiques clients resumes and provide one-on-one resume development/critiquing assistance when needed
  • Assists facilitators in contacting employers for possible job leads for clients
  • Provides assistance, guidance, information and referrals to clients, including referral for client service planning and coordination.
  • Assists in recruitment of employers for job fairs and other events; invites guest speakers to present on relevant work search topics / strategies and employer hiring expectations.
  • Provides information to online workshops in areas related to employment/pre-employment and training courses.
  • Provides technical and professional Customer Service support to all clients using Centre services.
  • Assists clients to identify, outreach & market themselves to employers, relevant career exploration and developmental skills training services.
  • Conducts outreach activities to employers, community service providers, schools, libraries, regulatory bodies to promote program, obtain resource material and prospective job leads.
  • Assists in participating in events and conduct outreach activities to support the Toronto Employment programs
  • Assists in conducting outreach activities to identify community resources, services, and programs supporting and addressing clients’ issues that are impeding achievements of personal career and overall life goals.
  • Provide information to clients on how to research community services and supports available to their particular needs, and assist them as necessary in accessing those resources.
  • Participate in job fairs, employer and special events, and other duties as needed
  • Assist in making appropriate referrals to support clients as required
  • Compile statistics both electronically and in hardcopies using designated forms and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Social Service Worker Diploma or equivalent with relevant practicum experience.
  • Minimum twelve (12) months group facilitation and employment counselling experience with clients
  • Preference will be given to those with demonstrated experience providing e-facilitation via distance learning.
  • Knowledge of the current labour market and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work in a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of community agencies and resources.
  • Knowledge of current computer packages: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Email, Internet.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Access to a car is an asset.

$28.00 - $29.39 per hour
