BE A PART OF A DYNAMIC AND DIVERSE ORGANIZATION AS A PROGRAM COORDINATOR FOR ITS EmpowerHER HORIZON PROGRAM

This is a part-time non-union, contract position scheduled to work 12 hours per week (in person) including two evening shifts on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Duties:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to program staff, ensuring adherence to program standards, procedures, and objectives.
  • Oversee planning and delivery of all program activities, including workshops, guest speaker sessions, and one-on-one consultations with legal, health, and counseling professionals.
  • Manage program scheduling, ensuring activities align with participant needs and program objectives.
  • Conduct participant intake and needs assessments to determine eligibility and tailor program content based on individual goals.
  • Maintain and update program waitlist, registering clients into appropriate sessions.
  • Ensure accessibility by supporting new clients in using virtual tools such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Oversee design and implementation of the EmpowerHER Horizons program, ensuring it aligns with proposal objectives and client needs.
  • Supervise development and facilitation of high-quality workshops, including Life Skills, Employment Readiness, Digital Literacy, and Wellness & Personal Growth modules.
  • Support facilitator in delivering both synchronous and asynchronous learning using virtual conferencing tools and Microsoft programs.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development support to facilitator to maintain program quality.
  • Organize and coordinate guest speaker sessions, networking events, and cultural activities to enhance participant engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners to provide participants with access to additional support, such as childcare, housing, and legal assistance.
  • Market program to potential participants, newcomer-serving organizations, and community partners.
  • Collect and input client data into CIS and maintain organized operational files on SharePoint.
  • Coordinate client feedback surveys, compiling participant satisfaction data to assess program effectiveness.
  • Tabulate and analyze program performance indicators, including participant engagement rates, satisfaction scores, and employment outcomes.
  • Prepare quarterly progress reports and a comprehensive final report on program impact, participant feedback, and recommendations for future iterations.
  • Facilitate ongoing networking and mutual support groups for program graduates.
  • Track participant progress three months post-program to measure employment outcomes, skill development, and continued engagement in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Social Services Worker diploma, Community Development, Adult Education, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 years of recent experience working with newcomers and/or marginalized women.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in program coordination, including planning, implementing, and overseeing programs for newcomers and/or marginalized women.
  • Proven ability to coordinate all aspects of a program, including participant intake, scheduling, staff support, workshop delivery, and reporting, with a focus on meeting the needs of newcomers and/or marginalized women.
  • Life Skills Coach Certificate training is an asset.
  • Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) designation is an asset.
  • Personality Dimensions Certification is an asset.
  • Mental Health First Aid certification is an asset.
  • Strong coordination, organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a team setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, internet, and Windows-based software.
  • Experience using OneDrive and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with virtual meeting tools such as Microsoft Teams and hybrid teaching technology like the OWL camera.
  • Strong understanding of local community issues, priorities, and challenges facing newcomers to Canada and marginalized women in the GTA.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to diverse client needs.
  • Sensitivity to diverse populations, including new immigrants, refugees, LGBTQ individuals, and persons with disabilities.
  • Verbal and written fluency in English; the ability to speak another language is an asset.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including both daytime and evening hours, as required.
  • Must be available to work in person.
  • Must be fully vaccinated or provide a valid exemption on human rights grounds (COSTI reserves the right to verify exemption validity)
