Ontario Ministry of Health Accredited Food Handler Certification Program

Course Content:

• Laws that Apply to Food
• Microorganisms and Foodborne Illness
• Safe Food Handling Methods
• Introduction to HACCP
• Sanitation, Maintenance and Pest Control in Food Establishments
• Food Handler Certification Exam

Training includes:

• Virtual instruction with a live instructor
• Food Handler training study guide (pdf version)
• Access to the online Food Handler Certification Exam- with 3 exam attempts
• PDF version of  Food Handler certificate issued with successful exam completion (70% minimum), valid for 5 years

Eligibility:

• Participants must be actively seeking employment in the food industry, hospitality and tourism, food retail, or childcare sectors
• Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 5
