Youth and Health Recreation
The goal of COSTI's Youth Health and Recreation program is to provide youth with a positive alternative to the prevailing street culture and increase their participation in constructive activities. The program provides, through athletics, a vehicle, which strengthens self-esteem, confidence, physical skill development, teamwork, leadership and healthy living. The core program competencies focus on health and nutrition.
Services Available
Activities:
- Track and field based training (based on abilities and interests)
- Skills training for sprinters, middle distance runners, long and triple jumpers
- Able-bodied and youth with a disability are encouraged to participate
- Healthy eating sessions
This program is located at:
- Birchmount Stadium (June – October); 75 Birchmount Road Scarborough, ON
- Monarch Park Stadium (November – May; 1 Parkmount Road; Toronto, ON
Who is Eligible
Children and youth (able bodied and those with a disability) between the ages of 5 and 23 are welcome to participate.
