Women-specific Employment Training

The Women-Specific Employment Training language courses support women in finding jobs in child care, food services or retail sales/customer service areas.
This job-specific training for women is focused on enhancing their knowledge & vocabulary related to the specific occupational sector and facilitating their transition to employment.
Services Available
The program components include:
- Job-specific language training (Child Care, Food Services, Customer service)
- Occupation-related vocabulary & terminology
- Field trips to workplaces
- Sector-specific guest speakers
- Support with the employment search
Who is Eligible
- Open to female participants who are Permanent Residents, Convention Refugees or Minister’s Permit holders.
- Participants must present proof of completed language assessment with CLB 3-5.
Upon completion of the Women-Specific Employment Training, participants will receive certificates recognizing their achievements, enhancing their employability.
Program Intake
This is a 6-week training, offered on Saturdays, 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.
The WSET program intake for Spring/Fall 2024 is scheduled on:
- May 18, 2024 – Customer Service
- September 7, 2024 – Food Service
- October 19, 2024 – Child Care
Course Schedule:
- Weekend Sessions (Saturday)
- Time: 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
