The Women's Cyber Squad Training Program

Unlock your potential and bridge the gender gap in the tech industry.

Designed to support marginalized newcomer-women, this program provides sector-specific language and technical skills, as well as confidence building strategies to succeed in the field of cybersecurity.

The training includes an introduction to foundational cybersecurity principles, network security essentials and data protection. In addition, participants can apply their knowledge through practical exercises tailored to real-world scenarios while engaging in interactive group discussions to deepen their understanding.

Services Available

Skills Development:
Acquire basic knowledge of cybersecurity, covering cybersecurity basics, network security, threat intelligence, ethical hacking, data protection and incidence response skills.

Employment Readiness:
Enhance your employability through resume building, interview preparation, and industry-specific job search strategies.

Networking and Mentorship:
Connect with industry professionals and receive mentorship support to navigate the world of cybersecurity while opening up opportunities for career growth.

Empowerment and Confidence Building:
Gain confidence in your technical abilities through workshops focused on personal development, communication skills and self-advocacy.

Post-Training Support:
We will help you explore job opportunities and facilitate a smooth transition from training to real-world employment.

Program Intake

The program is available to newcomer women with Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 5+ of English Language Proficiency.

Participants are required to have basic computer skills.

Times

This is a six-week online training, offered on Tuesdays & Thursdays, from  5 to 7:30 p.m, and on Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
